Using Givelitics
Terms of Use
These terms set the ground rules for using the Givelitics mobile app, customer portal and connected services.
Effective date:
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using Givelitics, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Givelitics on behalf of a church, charity or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
The service is provided through a participating organisation. That organisation remains responsible for its own activities, content, member relationships, charitable funds, safeguarding decisions and legal compliance.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and device secure and do not share access to your account.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.
- Use only the organisation, role and permissions assigned to you.
- Younger users may use the service only where their organisation and applicable law permit it and appropriate permissions and safeguarding arrangements are in place.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account until you report misuse.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, infringe another person's rights or breach an organisation's policies;
- harass, threaten, exploit or mislead anyone, or post unlawful or harmful content;
- share confidential, prayer, health, safeguarding or directory information without authority;
- pretend to be someone else or obtain access beyond your assigned role;
- probe, bypass or interfere with security, rate limits, tenant boundaries or access controls;
- introduce malware, scrape the service at scale or place unreasonable load on it; or
- use the service for spam, unauthorised marketing or commercial resale.
Report harmful content through the available in-app controls or email support@givelitics.com. Givelitics is not an emergency or safeguarding reporting service.
4. Your content and organisation content
You keep any rights you have in content you submit. You give Givelitics and the participating organisation permission to host, copy, display, transmit, moderate and otherwise process that content only as needed to provide, secure and administer the service and meet legal obligations.
Only upload content you are allowed to share. Community leaders and authorised administrators may review, restrict, correct or remove content under their organisation's policies. External media publishers are responsible for having the rights needed to publish their links, titles and descriptions.
5. Giving, payments and Gift Aid
As at the effective date, mobile Giving operates in Stripe test mode. Test transactions do not move money, are not donations and must not be used as evidence of a charitable gift or Gift Aid claim.
If live Giving is separately enabled in future, the checkout will identify that clearly. Stripe will process payment credentials, and the participating charity will be responsible for the donation, fund designation, refunds, receipts, Gift Aid claims and donor-facing obligations. You must provide accurate declarations and may not claim Gift Aid unless eligible. Payment processing may also be subject to Stripe's terms.
6. Notifications, links and third-party services
Push notifications are optional and can be controlled through app preferences and device settings. Delivery is not guaranteed and important or urgent information should not rely on a push notification alone.
Givelitics may link to external media, livestream, payment or other services. Those services are operated by third parties under their own terms and policies. A link does not mean Givelitics endorses or controls the external service or its content.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable and secure service, but availability may be interrupted for maintenance, security work, provider outages or circumstances outside reasonable control. We may improve, replace, restrict or discontinue features. Where reasonably practicable, participating organisations will receive notice of material changes that affect their use.
Do not rely on Givelitics as the only copy of records your organisation is legally required to keep, or as the only way to communicate emergency or safeguarding information.
8. Suspension and ending access
You can stop using Givelitics at any time and can request account deletion as described on the account deletion page. Your organisation may remove your membership or permissions. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, organisations or the service; investigate misuse; comply with law; or enforce these terms.
Ending access does not remove obligations or records that must continue for financial, Gift Aid, membership, safeguarding, dispute, audit or other lawful purposes.
9. Responsibility and liability
Givelitics is responsible for providing the technology service with reasonable care and skill. Participating organisations are responsible for their activities, decisions, content, funds, leaders and members. To the extent permitted by law, Givelitics is not responsible for losses caused by an organisation, another user, an external service, unauthorised use of your account, or circumstances that Givelitics could not reasonably control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights, liability for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Givelitics and participating organisations handle information. Please read it before using the service, especially before posting prayer, health, safeguarding or directory information.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect product, legal or security changes. We will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice where a change materially affects users. Continuing to use the service after the updated terms take effect means you accept them, where the law permits that approach.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes; these terms do not remove any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@givelitics.com.
